Simple gesture bringing healing. Loved this.

It’s been surreal. I attended a group healing ceremony and sat down with a healer who’s been inspiring me to continue doing what I do. When it was time for us to introduce ourselves, I fumbled for words and I was unable to properly articulate why I wanted to be part of the circle. I tried talking about my shame and my journey towards shedding it—among all the things I’ve been wrestling with for my growth. I was vulnerable, uncomfortable, and anxious. Wow. I didn’t even bother to mention I was actively practicing healing too—I was there to receive. • As I sat there, I found myself in the position of the women attending my own circles. Truth be told, I was actually close to beating myself up for not being able to say what I really meant to say. I was beginning to overthink until I caught myself not being in the moment and resisting the possibility of receiving deep healing. So when we all laid down before the healing proper itself, I prayed and surrendered my shame and worry. I said, “I will not come out of this room ashamed and overthinking things. I’m opening myself up to heal.” Magically, I found myself at ease thanks to the warmth and the openness of the women who approached me after the gathering. I thought: I had no reason to be ashamed of myself. I was perfectly fine just as I am. • Retreating from practicing healing has been invigorating. It’s a time for me to receive and a time for me to see things from yet another angle. I’ve been letting go of a lot of things. Making space. Breathing it all in. It’s a gentle unfolding. 🙏
